Virtual Tour of the ShipThere are two ways to take a virtual tour of the Steamship William G Mather. One method follows to general route your tour would take if you actually came to the vessel for a visit. The other method involves selecting the area you want to examine from an imagemap of the vessel.
The "self-guided" tour follows approximately the same route as does the tour one would take during an actual visit to the Steamship William G Mather Museum. Photographs of locations accompany information about various sections of the vessel. Included on the "virtual tour" are locations that one would only see by taking the special "hard hat" tour which explores sections of the ship that are normally off-limits to our visitors. Navigational icons on the bottom of the pages for each compartment allow one to "walk" from compartment to compartment
An alternative to the self-guided tour is to create your own tour by using these diagrams of the forward and aft section of the vessel. Imagemaps built using simplified blueprints of the Mather allow you to visit the deck and compartment of your choice.
