Windlass Room

The view above is from the starboard-aft (right-rear) corner of the compartment looking toward the port (left) side to forward. The yellow railing in the center forground surrounds the ladder leading down to the chain locker. In the center of the compartment is the electric anchor windlass. In the background on the left side of the photo is the forward mooring winch. On the starboard side of the compartment are the windlass and mooring winch controls. The Windlass room is where the anchor windlass and bow mooring lines are located. The chain locker below holds over 600 feet of chain, and each bow anchor weighs four tons.
