Chain Locker

This compartment forward of the dunnage compartment hold the Mather's 600 feet of anchor chain. The CO2 cannisters for the fire supression system were housed in this compartment (The CO2 cylinders were removed when the Mather was retired in 1980) as well as "storm oil" cannisters.

Also located here is the ladder down the the forepeak. The forepeak is one of only two locations where the Mather's hull is not of double wall construction.
